Sad to say, my cheesecake business endeavour was a short lived one...
I realised I simply could not commit to promoting and expanding the business. I had initially contacted Nanyang Cafe (opposite McDota) for opportunities to be their regular supplier of cheesecakes. However due to sudden changes in my plans, ie I'm leaving Segamat earlier than expected, I had to finally decline their offer.
However as long as I'm in Segamat, do know that I would happily bake for anyone who wants one ( one whole cake that is).
=)
shutting down...

That's me making cookies. Pineapple Jam Tarts.
We got the recipe from someone who sells them.
tedious work it is...
but doesn't it look good ;)
the finished one looks better!oooohhhh..they're so good! practically melts in you mouth!thanks to more australian churn butter ;) the jam isn't the too sweet kind and the dough is just moist enough so that the tarts come out crumbly.
good quality jam tarts. much nicer than anyone i've ever bought.nope they're not for sale. they're too much work!
However, if you do want to buy these really really great jam tarts, my church sister (who gave me the recipe) sells them this new year.
Her's go really fast, so do contact me to reserve some for you, or for her number, if you do wish to order ;)
Happy Chinese New Year then! ;)

baking other stuff...

So..since there's not much to do at home, I'm baking cookies instead!
By popular demand, Betty Crocker's instant Double Chocolate Chip cookies!I think you can get the packet at GIANT supermarket.
Anyway, just for review, they're very very rich. Real good chocolate in there. Very very chocolatey. Should be able to appease the die-hard chocolate lover.
And for all the effort, I get about standard size container of cookies. Not bad considering all I did was mix and drop onto tray.
Ideal for the lazy baker ;)

Sinful Chocolate Brownies
Sunday, January 20, 2008
Maybe I should name my blog Cheesecakes and Brownies. Cause I do brownies really well too.
Anyway these are my Sinful Chocolate Brownies. Why sinful? Cause it's just so moist and so dense and so heavy and so chocolatey! There are nuts in it that give the that crunch so it isn't too 'jelak'Gosh, see how thick it is? My uncle's recipe which he apparently sells away too ;)
So a cake which is the size of my tray above goes at RM40 each. The absence of cheese cuts down the cost a lot but I still use good quality vanhouten baking chocolate ;)

The title says it all...self designed and printed at Lian Hoe. Oh, by the way, they charge exorbitant prices for unprofessional work. They could have at least cut it for me...

Maybe it'd be easier if I listed out examples of flavours you can get from me. Keep in mind it's not an exhuastive list. You can ask for anything I didnt list here.
Oh and the flavours apply for both baked and non-baked cheesecakes.
The generally popular ones are...
- Cookies and cream
- Blueberry

- Lemon
- Mocha

Frozen Strawberry Yogurt Cheesecake
What's the difference between a frozen cheesecake and a baked one?
A frozen cheesecake has got a more jelly-like texture. It's not as sticky and not as creamy.
Whereas a baked one is smooth and creamy. Cheesecakes are all about texture. Both are equally delightful, depending on one's personal preference.
Normally frozen cheesecakes call for whipped cream because there's no egg white involved to make it lighter. Well I substituted the whipped cream for yogurt, which adds a nice flavour and its HEALTHIER! Less Fat! Haha..And it tastes even better, in my opnion.
It's strawberry because I used strawberry yogurt. And I added a few strawberrys of my own so you have the actual fruit in it! Yup. All to make the cake a quality one.Of course to vary the flavours, you simply vary the yogurt and the fruit/ flavouring thrown inside. So Whatever you want, I can make it. You name it. If you want avocado cucumber alfafa cheesecake. No problem!
So although this is officially my Frozen Strawberry Yogurt Cheesecake debut, actually any flavour goes. Anything at all. Same for the baked one to in fact.
I cant stress on it enough. I guess it's cause I cant be baking every single flavour imaginable just to snap a picture of them. So any flavour of any cheesecake you want! I can make it! =)
Frozen cheesecakes go at RM35 each. The ingredients are still top notch, its just less hassle involved. You know you want it ;)
